A Little bit About ME.

I’m a graduate from the University of Iowa with a BA in Communications and a BFA in Graphic Design. During my time at Iowa I was employed at the Biology Department as their graphic designer and was a member & president of the student-lead organization Design UI.

After I left school I interned at the start up design firm, Design B&B. This new creative agency brought me in as their first hire and allowed me to contribute with brand strategy, concept ideas, and marketing campaigns for their clients, which included several Fortune 500 companies. Overall, my biggest takeaway during my internship was learning from the two women who created Design B&B. Amy Brusselback and Shelly Boggs are career marketing & design experts, and watching them build an incredibly successful business was invaluable not just as a marketer and designer—but as a businesswoman.

In the spring of 2016, I returned to my adoptive home of Iowa City where I joined the Sculpt team as a designer. Founded by another University of Iowa alum, the social media marketing agency was already established when I arrived with several other Iowa grads—as part of the team, I helped conceive, produce, and deliver visual content for new and existing clients.

After working at two very different design firms, I took my talents solo. Working as a freelance graphic designer, I created brand strategies and marketing materials for businesses and organizations—while also getting to work with individual clients for custom design work.

At the beginning of 2019 I joined the WHBF-TV & KLJB team as their digital media coordinator. Currently, I am the sole webmaster for ourquadcities.com and produce our digital media which includes advertising and marketing strategies for our station’s clients and isn-house promotions. In addition to my web and design responsibilities, I also work on the lifestyle show Living Local. I clip and edit segments to post online and on social media, I manage our social media presence and cultivated our social media marketing strategy. Since I started working on the show, I’ve increased our social media presence and total number of followers by 462%. I also work as part of our creative team as an associate producer, and I have been given the chance to executively produce the show.
